UMass-Boston defeats WNEC in Regional

UMass-Boston rallied from a 4-0 deficit to capture a 6-4 victory over Western New England College in the NCAA Division 3 tournament’s New England Regional on Thursday.
UMass-Boston took control with a three-run seventh inning to improve to 2-0 in the New England Regional. WNEC is now 1-1.
UMass-Boston had nine hits in the contest, with Mark McCormack (Shelton, Conn.), Connor Reinfurt (Manchester, N.H.) and Ryan Walsh (Newton, Mass.) contributing two hits apiece.
Daniel Heefner (Tracy Calif.) earned the win for UMass-Boston, in relief of Danny Gomez (East Boston, Mass.).
For WNEC, Tony Trubia (Tolland, Conn.) had a pair of hits and Kevin Jefferis (Cheshire, Conn.) took the loss.
