NECBL Hall of Fame dinner scheduled

The New England Collegiate Baseball League will hold the 2010 NECBL Hall of Fame Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 6 in the Boston Marriott grand ballroom in Newton, Mass.
Co-hosting the NECBL dinner will be Red Sox radio announcer Joe Castiglione and son Duke Castiglione, an NECBL alumnus and Fox Network television sports anchor. The inaugural NECBL Hall of Fame Class will be inducted and baseball luminaries will be honored with the NECBL Stand-Up Guy Award and the NECBL DH Award.
The NECBL Hall of Fame is focused on recognizing members of the NECBL alumni and administrators that have had a successful career in Major League Baseball or have contributed to the institutional success of the league.
The 2010 inductees are: Andre Ethier, Chris Iannetta, Mark Malaska, Andy Sonnanstine, Fay Vincent and Joseph Consentino.
The NECBL Stand-Up Guy Award recognizes outstanding MLB players and executives, who in addition to their baseball contributions, have shown exemplary character during their careers. The 2010 “NECBL Stand-Up Guy Award” recipients are: Bill Buckner, Skip Lockwood, Lou Gorman, Joe Morgan and Robin Roberts (posthumously).
The NECBL DH Award is focused on recognizing a charity that is championed by a MLB player, manager or coach. The NECBL will make a financial contribution to each selected charity. The 2010 DH Award recipients are Bob Stanley, “The Jimmy Fund,” Bill Lee, “The Travis Roy Foundation” and
George Foster, “Building Bridges: The George Foster Home for Boys.”
