Portsmouth (N.H.) sets record with 76th straight win

The Portsmouth (N.H.) High School baseball team won its 76th straight game on Thursday, setting a national record.
The Clippers defeated Pembroke Academy, 10-2, to set the new standard. On Monday Portsmouth tied the record of 75 straight victories, set by Homer, Mich., from 2004-05.
Portsmouth, which has won three straight state titles, is now 13-0 in 2011.
The Clippers’ last loss came in a 2007 state quarterfinal game against Hollis/Brookline.
