NECBL hands out weekly honors

Tanner Krietemeier, an outfielder for the Danbury Westerners, has been named New England Collegiate Baseball League Player of the Week.
Krietemeier (Castle Rock, Colo.) recently completed his freshman season at Nebraska. He hit .542 with six extra-base hits and eight RBI in six games for Danbury last week.
Krietemeier sandwiched a four-hit game against Keene on July 1 around three multi-RBI games.
NECBL Pitcher of the Week honors went to Newport Gulls right-hander Jon Prosinski (Skillman, N.J./Seton Hall).
Prosinski was nearly perfect on June 26 at North Adams. He and the Gulls won 1-0 as Prosinski allowed just one baserunner, on a single, over seven innings. He struck out seven in the win.
