NECBL hands out weekly honors

Keene catcher Brett DeLoach is the New England Collegiate Baseball League Player of the Week, while teammate Brad Monroe has been named Pitcher of the Week.
DeLoach (Georgia) had five consecutive multi-hit games. He finished his week by hitting a home run in three straight games while driving in seven. Besides the three homers, he also doubled twice and struck out just once.
Monroe (Hampton, N.H./Southern New Hampshire University) went 2-0 last week while holding hitters to a .125 slugging percentage and not yielding an earned run. He picked up the win on July 10 against New Bedford, as he threw six shutout innings.
Four nights later he earned the win against Old Orchard Beach with a two-strikeout inning.
