Cape League players earn weekly honors

Brent Suter (Wareham/Harvard) has been named Cape Cod Baseball League Pitcher of the Week, while Cody Keefer (Yarmouth-Dennis/UCLA) is the Player of the Week.
Suter earned a 12-3 win over Bourne in Wareham’s playoff opener, going the distance while giving up two runs and striking out eight.
In his other start last week, Suter threw five shutout innings in a no-decision against Falmouth, scattering four hits and striking out five.
Keefer, meanwhile, homered twice and driven in four runs in eight playoff at-bats last week.
In the week leading up to the playoffs, Keefer failed to record a hit in only one game and recorded multiple hits in two out of the four games.
