Perry named Rivier College baseball coach

Rivier baseball will have a new face at the helm for the 2012 season. Former professional baseball player Anthony Perry has been named head baseball coach for the Raiders.

After graduating from Fisher College in 2008, Perry played two seasons for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs of the independent Atlantic League under former Major League manager Butch Hobson.

For the past three seasons, Perry served as an assistant baseball coach for Fisher College, helping his alma mater to three Sunrise Conference championships.

In his four-year collegiate career at Fisher, Perry played in 171 games, recording a career batting average of .355 and a school record 69 stolen bases. He was integral part of four straight Sunrise Conference and NAIA Region X championships.

Perry is a native of Andover, Mass.
