The hits keep on coming for New England draft prospects in 2021.
After three New England natives were selected in the first round yesterday for only the fifth time in MLB Draft history, three more New England natives were selected in the second round this afternoon.
Boston College infielder Cody Morissette (Exeter, N.H.), Dexter School graduate Joshua Baez (Boston, Mass.) and Michigan left-handed pitcher Steven Hajjar (North Andover, Mass.) earned selections in the second round of the 2021 MLB Draft.
Morissette was selected with the 52nd overall selection by the Miami Marlins. Baez went 54th overall to the St. Louis Cardinals. Hajjar was selected 61st overall by the Minnesota Twins.
