Perfect Game's most prestigious showcase event of the year will take place later this week, and almost 50 New England prospects have earned invitations to play for travel teams in the tournament. With only two teams based out of New England, many top local prospects have linked up with teams based outside of New England for this international competition.
The 23rd annual WWBA World Championship will be held Oct. 7 to 11 at the Roger Dean Complex in Jupiter, Fla., a ballpark that also serves as the spring training complex for the St. Louis Cardinals and Miami Marlins. The WWBA World Championship is the top scouting attraction in all of amateur baseball each year. More than 700 MLB scouts and college coaches are expected to be in attendance.
Last week, we revealed the rosters for the two teams based out of New England -- the Red Sox scout team and North East Baseball National. Most players competing in the WWBA World Championship are members of the graduating high school/prep Class of 2022, although there are a few members of the Class of 2023 on some teams.
