A moment of recognition for the unsung stars of prep baseball

Today, New England Baseball Journal wants to reward this season's unsung preparatory players.

This is a unique group of student-athletes who perform under the radar, yet exceed what's expected of them. Whether it be at the plate, on the field or in the clubhouse, they do whatever is asked without hesitation, and then some.

Working outside the glow of the limelight, they are solid role contributors, well-applauded and highly valued by their teammates and coaches. Without them on their respective rosters, a majority of those teams would most likely struggle to find a level of consistency and balance.

Every team needs them, and here are some of the best.
