Bryce Leckey has come a long way in a short amount of time.
After three years at Daniel Hand High School in Madison, Conn., Leckey craved an opportunity to grow more as a person and a student-athlete. He left Daniel Hand to attend Canterbury School in New Milford, a 90-minute drive from his hometown, opting to repeat his junior year in an effort to prepare himself for what lay ahead.
Now a senior, an exceptional student, and a gifted second baseman/shortstop, Leckey recently committed to Division 1 Manhattan College in the Bronx for next year.
“We talked through the fall and winter, until I finally committed there,” said Leckey, who chose the Jaspers over Monmouth, Rollins, Central Connecticut, and UMass Amherst. “The school is close to home so my family could come see me play. It also has a good business school that I was lucky enough to get into.”
