One of New England’s best baseball treats is that the best of the best players from all over the country descend here for two months to play in the Cape Cod Baseball League.
The likes of Boston College and UConn are well represented throughout the league, as always, and Bentley outfielder Max Troiani has been an early standout for the Orleans Firebirds, but players from top programs coming to our own backyard is a unique highlight each year. After all, the Cape is “where the stars of tomorrow shine tonight.”
Weather has put somewhat of a damper on the league’s schedule through the first 10 days of play, but the Brewster Whitecaps enter the weekend in the midst of a seven-game unbeaten streak that has propelled them to the top of the standings.
