A busy offseason in New England college baseball has included significant turnover in the head coaching ranks at all three NCAA levels.
For the third consecutive season, more than one of the region’s Division 1 programs had a head coaching vacancy to fill as Boston College and UMass Lowell will enter the upcoming spring with new leaders in the dugout. Last summer saw two coaching changes in Connecticut: Brian Hamm taking over for the retiring John Stuper at Yale and Pat Egan earning his first head coaching role at Sacred Heart.
The staff that former BC skipper Mike Gambino put together at Penn State created other head coaching vacancies, including the arrival of a new boss at a Division 2 powerhouse. The carousel recently just stopped spinning as Rhode Island College named the replacement for Frank Holbrook, who took Nick Puccio’s spot on the Northeastern staff.
Below is a look at the newcomers in New England dugouts for the 2023-24 academic year. This post will be updated as other changes arise.
