College commitments can mean different things at this time of year, depending on the particular college.
In some cases, a coach asks a player to commit to joining the program if he is accepted. In others, the coach commits to helping the athlete with the admission process. And in the cases of some D1 and D2 commitments, the coach commits athletic scholarship money to the athlete.
Regardless of the circumstances, it is still very much prime commitment season in New England. We've had 45 new commitments from players in the last week, including 25 from players outside of Massachusetts.
