The NCAA Contact Period for Division 1 baseball programs spans from Aug. 1 to Aug. 20, and with it comes a spike in commitments among New England prospects.
The NCAA Contact Period allows for college coaches to make in-person, off-campus recruiting contacts and evaluations. Many coaches go on the road during this two-week stretch to scout athletes at elite showcase events.
In the past week, 15 New England prospects have announced college commitments. Twelve of the 15 plan to play D1 college baseball. Eleven are in the Class of 2024, two are '23 graduates who secured D1 commitments from newly hired Penn State coach Mike Gambino, and the final one is a '25 prospect.
