UMass Boston infielder Dave Murphy is the type of baseball player any coach would love to have on his team.
"I always say about the Dave Murphys of the world that if I had nine I’d never lose a game. It’s that simple," said Tom Frizzell, who has more than 700 wins over 28 seasons as head coach at Massasoit Community College in Brockton, Mass., where Murphy played his two seasons before transferring to the Beacons. "He’s a great kid, leads by example, and he’s a great baseball player."
It’s not at all a coincidence that Frizzell describes Murphy (Plymouth, Mass.) in that way. He’s a winner, and he’s won throughout his career.
