As the month of May draws near, the regular-season games start to carry more meaning across the Division 1 baseball landscape.
The Ivy League and Patriot League races will nearly be complete following this coming weekend’s slate, but Harvard and Holy Cross first have some work to do to finalize their respective positions at or near the top of the standings. Yale, too, is still alive for an Ivy League Championship Series berth, though it now sits idle until May 11.
Bryant built a commanding Northeast Conference lead following another road sweep, while its two league competitors from New England are now directly behind. The weekend also saw Fairfield and Quinnipiac continue their quests to stand atop the MAAC.
In addition, Rhode Island and UMass both took wins and positives out of Atlantic-10 weekends with a head-to-head series coming the weekend after next. In America East play, Maine broke out the bats for a season-high run total.
