Div. 1 Roundup: Run ends for Holy Cross, while others just getting started

By Joshua KumminsMay 13, 2019

UConn, J.O. Christian Field
UConn went 9-4 in its final season at J.O. Christian Field, where they've played since 1968.

The conclusion of the regular season is here for the majority of New England’s Division 1 baseball teams, but it’s already postseason time for some as well.

Holy Cross suffered a three-game series loss to Army West Point this weekend, falling one game short of another chance to play for the Patriot League championship. Meanwhile, Harvard will look to reach its first NCAA tournament since 2005 when it hosts Columbia with an Ivy League title on the line.

Bryant continued its run of Northeast Conference regular-season titles, but league rivals Central Connecticut and Sacred Heart were also victorious in three-game sets on the penultimate weekend of the regular season. Similarly, the America East race tightened as UMass Lowell swept its first series of the year and Hartford claimed two wins.

Northeastern, Rhode Island, and Fairfield also enter the conclusion of the season on a high note after series victories in the CAA, Atlantic-10, and MAAC, respectively.
