Eat Well While You Play

By Julie NicolettiMay 1, 2018

Do you find that you eat better in season or during the offseason? I recently had a conversation with a player who said that during the offseason and heading into preseason, he eats better than he does during the season.

Here’s how the conversation went: Julie: "You eat better in the offseason than you do during the season? Why?"

Player: "Because during the winter, I have more time to think about what I’m going to eat and I pack my bag. My goal was to get stronger so I ate more and tried to eat healthier."

Julie: "That sounds great, but doesn’t it make sense that you were training to perform during the season and should eat well while you play?

Player: "Yeah, I try, but it just gets hard with practice, homework, games and everything."
