The more you think about it, the more appreciative you become to just how extraordinary the actual feat was. On a brisk, chilly afternoon earlier this month, Winchendon School's Jake Gigliotti reminded us what a dominant pitcher should be like, and what one can do.
Facing Tilton School inside the confines of Northborough's New England Baseball Complex, the tall righthander started his outing in a groove and never once deviated away from it.
During a 17-3 triumph on April 5, Gigliotti struck out all 15 batters he faced during five innings of work, as dominant as any pitcher could be.
"When the game started, I was able to strikeout the side," said the post-grad. "I wasn't really thinking strikeouts, but just trying to get outs, but things just continued to work out."
