The final weekend of the Division 1 college baseball season is upon us. Most series are pushed up a day and will begin on Thursday, with an eye on conference tournaments beginning by the middle of next week.
Two conferences with New England teams are already in the midst of the postseason: Holy Cross (22-32, 15-10) bowed out in the Patriot League with a best-of-three semifinal series loss to Army West Point last Sunday, and Harvard (25-13, 14-7) is set to host Columbia in the Ivy League Playoff Series this weekend.
For the rest, though, this weekend presents an opportunity to improve positioning in the standings or make a last push at clinching a postseason berth. Multiple teams from the region enter this weekend in one position or the other, while Bryant and Central Connecticut State have already moved away from the pack in the Northeast Conference.
Here’s a look at how playoff races stand entering the final weekend of the regular season throughout the region.
