In Division 1, it’s a numbers game

It has only been a matter of weeks since New England’s Division 1 baseball teams returned north from sun-splashed fields in Florida and California, but just over a month of the regular season remains.

Little has changed with regard to the region’s top teams since the season began in mid-February, but teams like Fairfield and Harvard have surprised in the New England race with their impressive performances in the MAAC and Ivy League, respectively.

More baseball has been played in the regular season than what lies ahead, making it as good a time as any to take a by-the-numbers glance across the region at some key figures from throughout the year and based on recent performance:
