Milton's Tommy Mitchell celebrates his team's MIAA D2 state championship at Polar Park in Worcester, Mass. (Kyle Prudhomme/NEBJ)
WORCESTER -- There is no end in sight for Milton.
The growing giant cemented its case as the most dominant team in Division 2 over the last decade by repeating as state champion with a 6-2 win over King Philip on Friday evening at Polar Park in Worcester, Mass.
Last year it was Charlie Walker and Brian Foley as the No. 1 and No. 2 starters putting up zeroes inning after inning. This year, it was MIAA Player of the Year front-runner Owen McHugh and breakout sophomore Scott Longo. Next year, it is expected to be Longo and Tommy Mitchell, a junior who rehabbed all season from a major injury to put the finishing touches on the state championship against King Philip.
Where does this run end for Milton?
