The North East Baseball National team made some noise in Perfect Game's most prestigious showcase event of year over the weekend in Jupiter, Fla.
The NEB National squad went 3-0-1 in group play against other regional all-star teams at the Perfect Game WWBA World Championship before falling in the Round of 32 to a Texas team that had 14 Division 1 commits. The WWBA World Championship is the top scouting attraction in all of amateur baseball each year. More than 700 MLB scouts and college coaches are expected to be in attendance.
The NEB National roster included nine players from New England. It was one of only two New England-based travel teams that entered the prestigious showcase events -- along with the Red Sox scout team. A total of 25 New Englanders also played in the tournament for teams based outside of New England.
Here is a look at the five New England players who stood out for NEB National at the WWBA World Championship.
