Noble and Greenough coach Rob Murray plans to resign from his post following the season, leaving a high-profile prep coaching vacancy in the ISL.
Murray and his family will move to Southern California, where the coach lived previously following a brief career as a professional baseball player. Murray has been the head coach at Nobles since 2013, making him one of the longest-tenured coaches in the ISL.
"Coaching in the ISL was great," Murray said. "There are really focused individuals on the field and in the classroom -- highly motivated kids. So many kids came in with the ultimate goal of playing a college sport, whether it's football, basketball, hockey, and obviously a lot of baseball. Helping a lot of kids into college ball was the greatest experience."
Nobles is finishing off a season in which the squad finished 12th out of 16 teams in the ISL with a league record of 4-7. The Bulldogs qualified for the ISL Consolation Tournament, and earned a first-round win over No. 13 Middlesex School on Wednesday. They'll play No. 9 St. Mark's in a Consolation Tournament semifinal matchup on Saturday. Nobles' final game of the season will come against Milton Academy on May 24.
