The Noble and Greenough baseball team will embark on a rare spring training trip for a New England prep program in the coming weeks, taking the cross-country flight to Southern California.
Three years ago, Nobles was set to make a similar trip, but the trip was wiped out due to COVID as was the baseball season and in-person academic experience.
"Obviously, it was very depressing,'' said Bulldogs head baseball coach Rob Murray. "That year, on paper, was probably the best team I had here at Nobles. We had nine college commits. The kids were really excited for a fun year. To start things off, we were going out to California to begin our season. We got one day of practice in here in our gym, and I was setting up for our second day when we were told school was going to be cancelled and everyone had to go home.''
Murray says a lot of time and effort was spent planning the trip, ranging from flight itineraries, securing hotel rooms, setting up practice times and sites along with game schedules.
