The success of Austin Prep's transition to the NEPSAC has been well established. Not only has the Austin Prep gone 46-5 since moving to the NEPSAC in 2023, but more than 20 players have gone on to play college baseball.
Austin Prep coach Jonathan Pollard is also creating opportunities for students to pursue careers in baseball off the field.
Pollard's experience coaching with USA Baseball in 2020 motivated him to create a baseball operations department.
"In my time down there, I was able to be around so many professionals who never put a baseball glove on, and you can see the level of sports information directors and the level of athletic trainers/sports medicine, because that is the model of USA Baseball," Pollard said. "If you are considered one of the best in your field, they want you. I found that you are surrounded by these professional, high-performing individuals, which makes it so inspiring.
