Throughout his career as a top-level student and gifted baseball player, Cayden Van Dolah has molded himself into one of the top middle infielders in the NEPSAC and, in the process, a future Division 1 college player at Holy Cross.
"For baseball, it was a culture shock when I arrived in my freshman year," said Van Dolah, who was raised in Meriden, N.H. "Despite having multiple Division 1 commits and many other Division 3 commits, there was a lot of negativity and (me)-first mindsets on the team.
"As a freshman, I took notes on this and devoted myself to creating a team-first culture over my next three years. I was fortunate enough to have been voted as one of the team captains after my freshman year, and I got to work on building this culture. It was challenging, and results did not show up that second season, but my junior season is where our culture shifted, and it is even more evident this season.''
Before repeating his freshman year at Taft, Van Dolah spent his middle school years at Cardigan Mountain School (Canaan, N.H.), between grades 6-9. He is the son of former Kimball Union Academy head baseball coach and science teacher Mike Van Dolah, who is now at Westminster School.
