As the remaining weeks of the school year dwindle, the games become more important throughout New England’s prep school baseball scene. Rainy weather can often turn the season into a proverbial sprint, which will reach its conclusion in the near future.

The weather hasn’t dampened recent action for the region’s top clubs as the top three teams in the latest New England Baseball Journal Prep School Coaches Poll maintain their positions from a week ago. Undefeated Andover continues to set the pace, picking up 15 of the 19 first-place votes.

This week’s ranks also include two new teams as Exeter returns to a top-10 spot and Suffield brings its perfect Western New England Prep League record into the fold for the first time.

In addition, 15 other teams received top-10 consideration on at least one coach’s ballot. As a refresher, teams receive 10 points for a first-place vote, nine for a second-place vote, eight for a third-place vote, etc. Coaches from around New England serve as voting panelists for the poll, which is released each Tuesday during the season. Those interested in participating can email Joshua Kummins (jkummins@baseballjournal.com) for more information.
