A season-ending salute to the assistant coaches

By John McGuirkMay 25, 2019

Phil Burton, St. Mark's
Phil Burton is an integral part of the baseball program at St. Mark's.

They don’t often get the attention or the accolades, but a solid assistant coach is a must for any successful program.

Preparatory schools throughout New England have benefited tremendously by having knowledgeable, established staff on board who are able to communicate with players regarding fundamentals and adjustments, as well as school and family life.

A good assistant also one who works hand-in-hand with the head coach. It is imperative that both to be on the same page in regards to philosophies, strategies, etc

New England Baseball Journal has put together a list of some of the top prep assistant coaches throughout New England with comments made by their head coaches.
