Auburn, Mass., native Tyler Beede, 26, had an unusual month of May, bouncing between the San Francisco Giants’ big-league roster and the organization’s Triple-A affiliate in Sacramento.

Beede, who also made two spot starts during the 2018 season, struggled in three May major-league appearances. Shifting roles between a spot starter and a long reliever, he allowed 11 runs (10 earned) in 6 1/3 innings.

At the time of this interview with New England Baseball Journal, Beede had just been optioned back to Triple A.
