As many college programs begin to gear up for the 2022 season with their traditional fall schedules, New England Baseball Journal takes a look back to the summer months and the top players from a full slate of action throughout the region.
This All-NEBJ installment shines the spotlight on the Futures Collegiate Baseball League of New England, an eight-team circuit which played from late May through mid-August before crowning a new champion for the first time since 2013. The Vermont Lake Monsters emerged victorious after decades in the affiliated minor leagues.
The FCBL once again attracted talent from all levels of the game in New England and beyond during its 11th season. The season was played one year after it was the lone league based in the region to run a summer schedule in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As usual, All-NEBJ players must hail from New England and/or play their college baseball in the region to be selected. Players from all three NCAA divisions were picked for this All-NEBJ roster, with representation with five of the region’s Division 1 schools, as well as two New England natives attending school outside of the region.
