Rosters have been released for what is arguably the top showcase event in the country for prep and high school players in the Class of 2022. Eight New England players earned invitations to the 2021 Area Code Games, to be held Aug. 7-11 at University of San Diego (Calif.).
The top 220 high school baseball players from across the country in the Class of 2022 and 2023 will represent their regions in the heavily scouted event. Eight regional teams play in a five-day showcase. The rosters will feature the best baseball players from around the nation competing at the highest level, while being evaluated at the highest level.
Scouts from all 30 Major League teams as well as top NCAA coaches will be in attendance. This tournament serves as the beginning of a year-long interview process culminating with the Major League Baseball Draft the following summer.
Of note, 64 Area Code Games alumni earned selections in the 2020 MLB Draft.
