Nine players with New England ties fulfilled life-long dreams of earning selections in the MLB Draft over the last two days.
UConn two-way prospect Reggie Crawford kicked off the MLB Draft festivities for New Englanders on Sunday night by earning the top selection among regional prospects. Crawford became the fifth UConn player under coach Jim Penders to earn a selection in the first round -- 30th overall by the San Francisco Giants.
The 2022 MLB Draft will continue today with Rounds 11 through 20. As many as a dozen players with New England ties are expected to earn selections in those rounds.
