The 2022 MLB Draft is not expected to be as laden with top-end New England prospects as 2021, when three natives were selected in the first round and seven in the top 100 selections.
However, there is still at least one potential first-rounder and plenty of depth for the later rounds. Many of New England's top prospects are playing at the D1 level, although this year's draft class also includes a few high school prospects who might hear their respective names called in July.
In the spring edition of New England Baseball Journal, we re-ranked the top 25 prospects for the 2022 MLB Draft. The new edition includes 10 players who weren't included in our top 25 list from the winter edition. This list of 25 players includes New England natives as well as prospects from New England college programs.
