Eight New England prospects will represent the Boston Red Sox scout team at Perfect Game's most prestigious showcase event of the year -- the 2022 WWBA World Championship from Oct. 6 to 10 in Jupiter, Fla.
The 24th annual WWBA World Championship will be held Oct. 6 to 10 at the Roger Dean Complex, which also serves as the spring training complex for the St. Louis Cardinals and Miami Marlins. The WWBA World Championship is the top scouting attraction in all of amateur baseball each year. More than 700 MLB scouts and college coaches are expected to be in attendance.
The Red Sox scout team is an 18U All-Star Team coached by Red Sox Northeast scouting director Ray Fagnant and Show New England director and former Sox prospect Steve Lomasney. Although the Red Sox scout team does not account for all of the New England players who will participate in the WWBA World Championship event, it was one of only two teams based out of New England — along with North East Baseball National -- at last year's event.
