We are now at the beginning of the busiest part of the year for college baseball recruiting. The majority of the calendar between March 1 and July 31 is an official Contact Period, when it is permissible for college coaches to make in-person, off-campus recruiting contacts and evaluations.
With that in mind, the number of commitments for players in the Class of 2024 should significantly increase in the coming months.
We now have a total of 359 New England prospects in the Class of 2024 planning to play college baseball. Using last year’s 527 commitments for players in the Class of 2023 as an example, it seems likely that we will see around 170 more prospects commit to college baseball programs over the next six months.
Whether it’s through prep/high school or the travel ranks, New Englanders are routinely bound for some of the nation’s top college baseball programs. Many stay within the region, but the point remains: The college baseball ranks – across all three divisions – are chock-full of local players. To get insight into what’s coming, we have a running database of all college-bound players from New England. Players, parents and coaches are welcome to submit updates. If doing so, please send all additions to [email protected] and include the following: name, hometown, position, college, high school, class year, and club team.
