A collection of Northeast regional MLB scouts have selected a 28-man roster for the 2023 Area Code Games, and six players from New England earned invitations.
The Area Code Games is widely considered the top elite showcase event for incoming high school seniors. Eight regional teams play in a five-day showcase in California, and rosters feature many of the top 220 high school players in the country. Scouts from all 30 Major League teams, as well as top NCAA coaches, will be in attendance. Notable Area Code Games alumni include Clayton Kershaw, Giancarlo Stanton, Gerrit Cole, Nolan Arenado, Bryce Harper, and Mike Trout.
The premier Area Code Games tournament for players in the classes of 2024 and 2025 will run from Aug. 6 to 11 at the University of San Diego.
