Winning is fun, but winning at Fenway Park is even more fun.
That was the rather simple message delivered to Harvard and UMass entering Wednesday night’s Baseball Beanpot championship under the lights at America’s Most Beloved Ballpark.
From a pure baseball perspective, it was an important game. Harvard is having one of its best seasons in recent memory, competing for an Ivy League championship, while UMass continues playing its best ball of the year having won back-to-back Atlantic-10 series.
Like any other midweek game, it was an opportunity to keep that momentum rolling into the most crucial weekend series ahead. There were plenty of runs scored, too, as the Minutemen walked off with a 10-9 win, claiming their seventh-ever Beanpot title in the 30th annual event.
