Like his Bentley team as a whole, Max Troiani heated up right along with this year’s New England weather.
The rising senior outfielder helped the Falcons win 21 of their final 31 games in the powerful Northeast-10 Conference, hitting .320 with nine home runs, 22 total extra-base hits, 50 runs scored and 29 RBI from the leadoff spot. Those numbers helped him earn All-Northeast-10 Conference status and multiple All-East Region honors.
His spring performance also landed him a temporary roster spot with the Cape Cod BaseballLeague’s Orleans Firebirds.
Troiani didn’t know much about the nation’s top summer collegiate circuit while growing up in Pittsford, N.Y. His phone call with Orleans manager Kelly Nicholson last month was not only the opportunity to accept his roster spot but also a crash course about what he’d be facing next.
