
Professional baseball scouts will always find the best talent no matter where the players are from or what schools they attend.
However, summer collegiate leagues allow players from all three NCAA divisions to come together for a few months and showcase their stuff with wooden bats. With three leagues based in New England, there is plenty of opportunity, too, for the region’s top Division 2 and 3 players to get repetitions in a pro-like atmosphere.
Spots in the Cape Cod League come few and far between for “small school” players, but some have gotten the chance to shine on the ultimate summer stage over the past few years. It is much more common to find top programs at that level showcased on New England Collegiate League and Futures Collegiate League rosters.
