In his first full season of professional baseball, former Boston College hurler Brian Rapp is enjoying the game just as much, if not more so than when he had his cheeks stuffed with Big League Chew on a New Jersey little league diamond.
A 26th-round selection of the Minnesota Twins last June, the right-hander is reveling in every aspect of the experience while trying to carve out a place for himself in the game.
“It’s absolutely a dream,” said Rapp, cheerily. “Every kid growing up wants to be able to say they got drafted and had the opportunity to play for a living. I’m just grateful for that opportunity every day … I’d be doing it for free.
“I probably shouldn’t say that, it’s a living, but seriously I’m so privileged. It’s an absolute blast.”
