Bryant head coach Steve Owens always knew what Ryan Ward could do on a ball field.
The Millbury, Mass., native was the leading hitter for the Worcester Bravehearts in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League out of high school in 2016 and had two home runs and eight RBI in 10 games last spring before a broken wrist cut his true freshman season short.
His absence left an unexpected hole in the Bryant lineup during last season’s sixth consecutive Northeast Conference regular-season title run, but they say good things come to those who wait. This summer, they’ll come, too, to the NECBL’s Ocean State Waves.
