The return of the Cape Cod Baseball League was one of the highlights of the year for New England baseball fans.

As the weight of the pandemic continues to become less of an obstruction to our normal lives, we can only expect the Cape League to return in 2022. In fact, Cape League team executives are already signing players to contracts in preparation for the 2022 season.

Before we get to our list of 16 Cape League commits, please note that this is in no way a final accounting of New England players who will earn roster spots on Cape League teams in 2022. Team executives are still very much in the introductory process of filling rosters. Some top 2022 MLB Draft prospects will opt to play out the 2022 college season before deciding whether to commit to playing on the Cape. College players on teams that advance deep into the NCAA Tournament may choose to opt out of the Cape League season. Injuries can also impact player commitments.

For now, here's a pre-Christmas look at 16 New England players who have already committed to spending the 2022 summer on the Cape.
