The Cape Cod Baseball League’s summer season has reached its climax. No stranger to one another, the Brewster Whitecaps and Bourne Braves will meet for the championship for the second consecutive year and third time since 2017 after finishing the regular season as the top team in their respective division races.
The opener of the title series is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday at Bourne’s Doran Park. Game 2 will be played at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Brewster’s Stony Brook School. If necessary, the deciding third game would be played back in Bourne on Thursday night.
After capturing the 2021 title in a two-game sweep, Brewster is looking to become the league’s first repeat champion since the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox won three in a row from 2014-16. The Whitecaps have already won two of the last four titles on the Cape.
