The calendar hitting mid-June means only one thing to baseball fans in New England: the start of the Cape Cod Baseball League season.
While the summer collegiate slate kicked off with the Futures League and NECBL over the past few weeks, the final opening day of the local summer calendar is set for Saturday with five games across the Cape.
As usual, players from all of the nation’s top college baseball programs will descend upon our region over the next two-plus months, but there also are plenty of opportunities for locals to showcase themselves against the best.
Below is a list of all New England natives and college players on Cape League rosters as of the afternoon of June 14, which is subject to change. Per new league bylaws, contract designations for permanent and temporary players will not be assigned until noon on opening day.
