Cody Morissette’s first season at Boston College was filled with accolades.
The infielder from Exeter, N.H., was named to the Collegiate Baseball All-America third team after hitting .441 during the second half of Atlantic Coast Conference play and finished the spring with a .320 average, led the Eagles in doubles (20) and RBI (41), and earned All-ACC second-team, All-ACC Freshman Team, All-New England and Freshman All-America honors.
But the first two weeks of his summer in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League were a struggle.
“This league kind of humbled me at first,” said Morissette, who was just 2-for-18 through his first seven games with the Bourne Braves. “But then I just started playing baseball like a kid again, like I was a 12-year-old on a Little League diamond.”
