The college recruiting cycle slowed down considerably at the start of October. Over the last two weeks, a total of 15 New England student-athletes committed to colleges. By comparison, in the previous two weeks, 45 players made commitments.
It stands to reason that most college coaches looked to firm up plans by the end of September after their summer recruiting visits. Early October also included about two weeks of Perfect Game WWBA Championship events in Florida, so it could be more of a player evaluation period for college coaches.
Of the 15 players who committed to programs in the last two weeks, 13 are members of the Class of '23. Four of the 15 commitments are to D1 schools, including one of the '23s. So, there is still time for '23s still looking for offers.
Here's a look at the 15 players who have made college commitments in October.
