The month of September has brought with it a surge in D3 commitments among 2024 high school graduates. However, the last week of recruiting has seen players commit to schools at all three levels — D1, D2 and D3.
A total of 16 New England prospects committed to college baseball programs since our last report on Sept. 15. Of those 16, six were D1 prospects, including commitments to Penn State, Vanderbilt, Iona, UConn, St. John’s University, and University of Central Florida. Another three 2024 prospects committed to D2 programs. Seven more committed to D3 schools.
The NCAA recruiting calendar for D1 baseball includes a Contact Period from Sept. 15 through Oct. 8. During that time, it is permissible for college coaches to make in-person, off-campus recruiting contacts and evaluations.
