It's a strange time in the college baseball recruiting world.
We are entering a D1 Quiet Period right after the most-scouted fall showcase events, so college coaches can no longer scout players in person. Those same coaches are responsible for trimming roster sizes from 40 to 34 by the 2025-26 school year. And college players are deciding whether they will enter the transfer portal during the next window from Dec. 1 to 15.
The result? We're seeing a re-recruitment of players in the Class of 2025. Top players are being told by D1 coaches that they no longer have spots for them. Players are announcing decommitments. And college coaches are getting back to work on rounding out their incoming classes.
